Victoria's Secret is known for going au naturel. Now the brand is going natural as well.

Last year at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in New York, amid models with the signature beach waves, Angolan model Maria Borges became the first "angel" to walk the runway with her natural hair. In this case, it was a gorgeous teeny weenie afro (TWA).

In an exclusive Facebook Live with Refinery 29, hairstylist Sarah Potempa revealed that all 51 women will walk in the texture they woke up with. “We want to embrace everyone's natural beauty," she shared.

“We’re giving a carefree approach to the length and type of curl. Some women with shorter hair, maybe a lob, will walk with that hair. We're not gonna add extensions to make it super-long. And if someone has short hair on the side or a tight haircut, we're not gonna put a wig on or put extensions on their head. We’re gonna embrace it. There are 51 women, and we’re gonna make them feel their most beautiful."

Although we have long known that natural texture is sexy, beautiful and fashionable, some in the fashion industry have been slow to jump on board. When an iconic brand like Victoria's Secret encourages natural hair on the runway, it sends a powerful statement.
